We have permission to use the old racetrack in the park as an observing site on Friday and Saturday nights. It’s quite dark, but you need a key to get past the gate so booking is required.
Giovanni Andreis has the key to the gate. He sent me the following:
NO RESERVATIONS OR BOOKING REQUIRED TO ACCESS THIS SITE !
Simply call me & let me know when anybody wants to go.
I have the keys & access to this site any time we want.
Myself & two other members of the club use it very often on any night observing is possible, weekends and weekdays. So I encourage anybody to call me as this is one of our best urban observing sites with great horizons and limited light pollution.

Looks like we are going to C.V.P. on Friday night Jul 1st.
We were hoping for Saturday night but the clear sky clock says otherwise.
We plan to open the gate around 10:00 pm.
The clear sky clock says it won’t be a spectacular night, but it will be better than Saturday night.

We are planning an observing night at Campbell Valley Park on Saturday night March 24th 2012.
The weather is looking very favorable.
The gates will be open by 8:00 pm.
Please close the gate behind you after entry.
